9.2.08

These last weeks have been hectic. Horrible. GAH so bad! Everything has been causing major stress and shit. I can sort of happily say that that’s the end of that. For one, Solo and Ensemble is past. AJ, Meghna, and I got a 1 (highest rank) on our trio. We sucked, very very much, but the judge was nice, made us do some stuff over, and judged us on our potential and not our performance. My mom and I had a huge discussion on that in the car, how this is everywhere, and even Greenhills, who’s super amazing, still does it. I also got a 1 on my solo, which wasn’t a given, but seemed good enough to pass. The judge was silent, told me to get my forth fingers better in-tuned, and that I should distinguish dynamics. Whatever, it’s over. Cya next year, Livonia.

Then of course there’s public speaking. I chose one of the beautiful stories my mom used to read to me from these great big books when I was little, Theseus and the Minotaur. I love that story so much. I think that one of the reasons I was inspired to use it was that in FOC, Mrs. Dann asked us about it and I was all excited and tried retelling it but misplaced parts of the story. It made me sad, but saw the perfect change to learn it. Of course, in my case “learning” it was doing the whole assignment the day before it was due. It went something like…

“HALF MAN HALF BULL THE MINOTAUR wass the… mosttt… fearsome? of all uh ancient. uh. creatures.
*skip a part or two*
*speed uppppp*
*make up some parts*
*voice trembling*
*shakeeee like helll*
*move around stage too much*
…andhelosthisfatherandwassadformanyayear.”

I got an A- , which isn’t horrible, or anything. She graded me very fairly, and everyone who went in my class was fabulous, great job guys!

My schoolwork has been just DYING this past month. I’ve been doing my best to keep up and this weekend is great because I’m caught up, on everything. Bio test, was, bad. I met with Mrs. Friedlander, and she told me my errors, which were all legit and related, plus she congratulated me on answering everything correctly that most other people didn’t. I did a lot better on my foundations “quiz” than I thought I would. It’s not PERFECT but I’m still content. Our Spanish tombs were lots of fun, I did mine on Mario (from Mario and Luigi) my poster was really nice, I spent so much time on the drawings and they looked really good. My oral presentation sucked, but I went close to first, and I hadn’t memorized it completely. No need to say much about French, I’m getting an 85% in that class right now because Mme. Pappas hasn’t counted this project grade, haha. I calculated that when she will I’ll have a 98.6% :DD ahahha, wow. Fractals are a lot of fun, I’m not sure what I will do for my final project but I hope I think of something EXTRAVAGANT. Orchestra is starting to be fun again. I practice, which helps, especially in chamber. The music there is superrrr hard. Mrs. Henderson still blames everything our section does on me, but I’m starting to move past that. I have 5 chapters of the Odyssey to read :)

Soccer is starting to bug me. I’ve been playing with this saline team called Lightning for 2ish years, and this year all the good players left and got substituted by horrible players. To top it off, we won both indoor seasons last year, so this season we are in a division higher, with these amazing teams that could flatten us if we didn’t get out of the way, and if there wasn’t a ref. I have to find a way to quit that team. Since I’m on it, Kitty won’t let me play on the GH indoor team because she thinks that other players that don’t get as much playing time need to train themselves for the outdoor season. Ok, I agree with her, but STILL I WANT TO PLAY. I go each Sunday to the practices at GH though, and I’ve been running at Travis. Whatever, we’ll se what happens. Woot.

On a happier note, SNOW DAYS ARE FANTASTIC.
This is me doing my snowdance…

+my parents dont think that im learning how to write essays well enough in english class, so theyre making me write one each week. i hate it.

++J'Amie and I had this amazing string fight in the snow on Thrusday. He stole my prop for public speaking and Paddy and him were running around the school, and i was chasing them. This went on for about 30 minutes until I tricked them and tackled Paddy D to the ground, wrapped J'Amie in string, and held on as he tried to pulled me across the snow. I have strong hands :D You had to be there. It was incredible.

haha, the way nina phrased that makes it sound as if theseus had a lot of tasks to do...in a latin class.

prediction: Patrick and J'Amie will never, ever, ever grow up. *crosses fingers*
